Vehicle Transport to Snetterton Circuit

Snetterton is a former RAF bomber base on the flat Norfolk plain, and you feel it the moment you step out of the car: wind off the fields, no shelter, and a lap that rewards commitment more than finesse. The 300 layout is nearly three miles long and pairs two big straights with a fiddly infield section, so the cars we take up there need to be geared and fuelled for a very different day than somewhere like Oulton. It sits just off the A11 between Thetford and Attleborough, which makes the run from Devon a long but simple one, mostly motorway and dual carriageway until the last stretch across the fens. We move race cars, track-day cars and race bikes up to the paddock with one of us driving, so the driver isn't stuck in Norfolk after drop-off. Snetterton's a club-racing stronghold, home to the BTCC, British GT and a long calendar of MSVR weekends, and because it runs three layouts, the 300, 200 and 100, the same venue serves everything from a full national round to a quiet evening test. The corners tell the story: Riches feeds the long Senna straight, then the tight Montreal hairpin and the little infield sequence demand a car that brakes and turns, not just one that tops out. There's not much to hide behind out there, so a car that's been shaken loose in transit shows it straight away, which is why we strap everything down properly. We'll get yours there for whatever you're entered in, deliver it to the paddock, and be gone before scrutineering starts. We can collect from a workshop or a storage unit as easily as a home address, and we'll bring any spare wheels or boxes you can fit alongside the car in the support vehicle, so the trip does more than just move the car.

Non-runners up to the fens

A car that won't start is still welcome at Snetterton, where plenty of teams drag a spare shell up for a rebuild between rounds. We winch it onto the trailer, chock the wheels and strap it down, then haul it up the A11 and into the paddock. No engine, no battery, no bother, as long as we can get a winch line on it and the brakes aren't seized solid.

Race bikes across the fens

Norfolk's a long way for a bike on a borrowed trailer, so let us do it. Bikes travel inside the support vehicle, strapped through the frame and chocked so they don't shift on the exposed, gusty run up the A11. We unload in the Snetterton paddock and wheel it to your garage, the same person with the bike from collection to handover, so nothing gets dropped between vehicles.

Multi-car team moves to the 300

Entering a three-car team in a British GT or club round means three cars to get to Norfolk. We send a driver for each, so the whole squad lands at the same time instead of trickling in across the day. It beats hiring drivers, sorting fuel runs and losing a crew member to a shuttle car, and everyone arrives ready to set up.

Straight into the paddock

Snetterton's paddock is a big, open, windswept space, and the last thing you want is your car dumped at the gate. We take it through to your garage or awning spot and leave it there, keys handed over to you or the organisers as you've arranged. You arrive, unload your kit, and the car's already where it needs to be, not at the other end of the venue.

Test-day drop-offs

The 200 and 100 layouts run test and track days all season, often midweek, and that's when getting a car up there yourself gets awkward. We'll deliver to an evening test or a private hire day, wait with the car until your session's booked in, and head home once you're sorted. Our driver's never stranded in Norfolk waiting for a lift.

Timed around BTCC and British GT

Snetterton's big weekends pack the paddock and the A11 gets busy with transporters on Thursday. We plan the run so your car beats that rush and lands before your garage slot opens, so you're not unloading in the dark the night before. Tell us your scrutineering or signing-on time and we'll work backwards, with slack for the fens.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to move a car to Snetterton from Devon?

We quote by the direct distance from your collection point to the circuit, plus a collection fee, and the figure is fixed before we set off, so nothing ticks up while we're on the road. From Exeter up to the Norfolk circuit is roughly 250 miles, and we'll confirm the exact mileage when you book. I make my own way back after every move, and that return leg is already included rather than charged on top.

Can you move a car that doesn't run?

We can, as long as it can be winched or pushed onto the trailer. Non-runners go up to Snetterton all the time, often spare shells or cars that need work between club rounds. Tell us whether it rolls and steers and we'll tell you exactly how we'll load it, and whether it needs to be winched or can be rolled on. Seized brakes are usually the only thing that slows us down.

Is Snetterton hard to reach with a trailer?

It's one of the easier circuits to get to. Most of the run is motorway and dual carriageway, then a short hop off the A11 between Thetford and Attleborough, so a trailer sits fine the whole way. The access roads into the venue are open and flat, which suits a low car. The only thing to watch is a headwind across the fens, and we allow for that in fuel and time.

Do you move race bikes to Snetterton?

Yes. Bikes go inside the support vehicle, chocked and strapped through the frame so they can't move or rub on the journey from the South West. We unload them in the paddock and wheel them to your garage. If you're racing at a BSB or club meeting, give us your arrival window and we'll time the run to match, so the bike isn't sitting out in the Norfolk weather any longer than it has to.

Will you deliver into the paddock?

That's the whole job. We drive or trailer your car through the gate and into the paddock, then leave it in your garage or awning spot where you've booked one. We don't drop at the entrance and clear off. If you've set up sign-on with the organisers we can hand the car over and pass on the keys, so nothing depends on you being there the moment we arrive.

How far ahead should I book for a BTCC or British GT weekend?

A couple of weeks if you can manage it. Snetterton's big meetings fill the paddock early and transport slots go with them, so booking in good time gets you the arrival slot you actually want. Leaving it to the week of the meeting usually means fitting around whatever's left. For BTCC rounds, Thursday arrival slots go first, so book early if you want the car there before the transporter rush. Tell us your signing-on time and we'll schedule the run backwards from it.
